Small car sales in India plunge 75% as rural incomes decline

Passenger automobiles was raised by 361,734 in September from 359,260 units in the mid of August. Rajesh Menon, director general, SIAM added, “Sales of including either of Passenger Vehicles and Three Wheelers in Q2 of FY2023-24 has seen the peak ever in Q2. Passenger Vehicles have posted a increments of 4.8% and Three Wheelers have reached a increments of 62.8%, as differentiate to Q2 of previous year. The Passenger Vehicle category was reached over 2 million units sales for the ever firstly, in the mid half of ongoing financial year. Commercial automobiles was also reached a good increments of 6.9% in this second fourth Quarter, as differentiate to Q2 of previous financial year, taken out by good increments in Medium and Heavy Commercial Automobiles. Two-Wheelers category have decreased by (-)1.6% in this Quarter, as differentiate to previous year.”
